I am going on book tour for 24 Hours at the Capitol! This is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was young (what can I say, I had weird dreams as a kid) and I’m so excited that it’s finally happening. We’re starting with New York City, Tenafly (New Jersey), Chicago (Naperville), Portland (Oregon), Detroit, and London, and already have a few other potential cities up our sleeves for later in the spring!

In a few cases, you’ll need tickets for the event (which are not on sale yet.) They’ll pretty cheap and as always, if you want to come but can’t afford the ticket price, just let me know and I can cover you. There will also opportunities to bundle ticket and preorder, if you haven’t yet. (Or you can pre-order here!)
I’m also starting to get real reader reviews in from folks who have gotten their hands on an advance copy, which typically go out to booksellers, reviewers, book influencers, bloggers, etc. Here’s my favorite one so far, because it’s basically also how I felt about January 6 after I finished writing this book:
“I knew it was bad but I didn’t know how bad it actually was. I don’t usually rate non-fiction books, but I think this one needs to be read and seen by everyone.”
Thanks, Laney from Goodreads! Speaking of which, Goodreads is running their own giveaway right now for a free copy of 24 Hours at the Capitol! You can enter for free here: https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/413568-24-hours-at-the-capitol-an-oral-history-of-the-january-6th-insurrection (although you need a Goodreads account.)
And finally, lest you forget about Renegade Girls, that book got a lovely mention in the New Yorkerthis weekend! Writing about Alice Austen and her community at Clear Comfort, the New Yorker says “It’s easy to imagine that world repurposed for one of those TV series where young people in corsets have spunky adventures set to ahistorical pop music.” That made me laugh because it’s exactly how I would imagine a potential TV show. Studios, take note… I’m available, call me.
